· Account Information: Name, email address, username, and password when you register.
· Profile Data: Optional fields you provide such as phone number, address, and avatar.
· Content: CAD models, design request descriptions, and associated metadata you upload.
· Transactional Data: Payment method tokens (handled by Stripe — we never store raw card numbers), purchase history, and payout details.
· Usage Data: Pages visited, models viewed, search queries, and interactions with features.
· Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and session information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
· Provide, operate, and improve the Service
· Process transactions and send purchase confirmations
· Calculate and deliver designer payouts
· Personalise your browsing experience (e.g. recommendations)
· Send transactional emails (order confirmations, password resets)
· Send the JewelCAD newsletter if you have subscribed (you can unsubscribe at any time)
· Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
· Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your data to train AI models or sell advertising.
5. Data Security
We take security seriously and implement the following measures:
· All data in transit is encrypted via TLS (HTTPS).
· Passwords are hashed using bcrypt; we never store plaintext passwords.
· AWS S3 files are encrypted at rest.
· Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel.
· Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe, who maintain PCI DSS compliance.
Despite these measures, no system is completely secure. Please use a strong, unique password for your account.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Transactional records are retained for 7 years to comply with financial regulations. Usage logs are retained for 90 days.
When you delete your account, your personal profile is removed. Published models you have sold may be retained in order records for legal and financial compliance, but will no longer be attributed to your identity.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location you may have the right to:
· Access a copy of your personal data
· Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
· Delete your data (right to erasure)
· Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
· Restrict processing in certain circumstances
· Object to processing based on legitimate interests
· Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time

8. Children's Privacy
JewelCAD is not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email (to the address on your account) or by posting a prominent notice on the Service at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
